Welcome

I am pleased to invite you to come worship at Clemmons Presbyterian Church.  We have a healthy mix of all ages in our church and you may find a place here for you!

This is an active family of faith that is busy with worship and lots of choirs and handbells, busy with Bible study with lots of classes in Sunday School and groups during the week, busy with MISSION at many of the ministries in the community and within our congregation, and busy with fellowship with exciting youth activities, adult options and an active senior adult group. Read this week’s announcement sheet.

Come and visit with us so that you can see if God might be calling you to worship, study and serve here too!

A Birthday in China – John Mc Call

With the students and holding their birthday gift

Dear Friends,

Chinese New Year is earlier this year, so Jiangsu Seminary in China asked me to come earlier this time to teach the course on Spiritual Theology before the Chinese New Year begins.  I began teaching on Monday and will teach through next week before flying back to Taiwan on Friday 1/6.  There are about 75 students in the class who will all graduate in June next year and begin serving  churches throughout Jiangsu Province (next to Shanghai in eastern China).

There are more women students than men, which reflects the make-up of the Church in China.  The classroom is kind of like a bowling alley, very long, so in order to connect with the students who sit in the back, when I ask questions, I often walk to the back of the room.  Interestingly, almost all of the men sit in the back and the women sit closer to the front.  It is winter here and the classroom is cold, so everyone wears their winter coats to class.  I am thankful for the hot tea which warms us up.
