Associate Pastor - Patrick McElwaine
Patrick McElwaine is originally from Roanoke, VA, where was raised in the loving and supportive congregation of Second Presbyterian Church. He is a graduate of Roanoke College in Salem, VA where he earned a B.A. in English with a concentration in Communications. Patrick was conferred the Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA.
Patrick has worked with youth groups at Second Presbyterian Church of Roanoke, VA, First Presbyterian Church of Asheville, NC, and Second Presbyterian Church of Richmond, VA, where he completed his parish internship. His passion for pastoral care was reinforced by a Clinical Pastoral Education internship at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital System.
Patrick is married to Allyson and they have two children, Malachi and Bridget. In his free time, he enjoys being with family, reading, listening to music, and exploring – new places, new food, and the great outdoors. Patrick is excited to serve in a PC(U.S.A.) congregation where he is involved in many aspects of church life, including preaching, teaching, working with youth, and offering pastoral care in a vibrant community of Christ’s disciples.
