Mission Ministries
"To serve the least, the last, and the lost."
The CPC Missions team is involved in activities in the community by helping those around us, not only locally, but regionally, nationally, and internationally. Our belief is that by serving others in Christ's name, we in turn are made stronger in our faith.
The Missions Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. and welcomes anyone interested in serving their community.
The following benevolences are supported by our committee:
- Presbyterian Coffee Project
The Presbyterian Coffee Project is an innovative way to reach out to
small-scale farmers in the developing world while enjoying fellowship
and an excellent cup of coffee. As Christians we can address a consumer
dilemma by buying coffee that is
fairly traded. Presbyterian congregations that participate are
supporting practices which help farmers in Latin America, Africa and
Asia earn a fairer share of income, obtain access to credit and
technical support, and gain a trading partner they can trust, a fair
trade organization called Equal Exchange.
Coffee is available for purchase from church member Jean Moore on Sunday mornings or from the church office. For more information, cal the church office or visit http://www.equalexchange.com/pcusa.
