One of the projects of the Confirmation Class is to compose a personal Statement of Faith. Each Confirmand will receive a handout that helps guide them through this process. That same information is included below or can be downloaded here.

- Worship & Sacraments
- The Church
- Salvation/Sin & Grace

In what style do you want to write your statement? (poetic, paragraph, bullets, narrative, Q&A, etc.)

- First-person, singular (“I”)
- Second-person, singular (“You”, as in speaking to God)
- Third-person, singular (“He/She”, as in speaking about God)
- First-person, plural (“We”)

- State WHAT or WHO something is, state WHAT you BELIEVE about it, and state WHY it is important or significant to your faith.
What do I need to do?
- Meet with Mentors periodically or via email or phone to help with statements.
- Outline of Statements due on Sunday, Dec 4 (at class or by email)
- First Rough Draft due on Wednesday, Dec 14 (by email only)
- Meet with Jay, Felicia, or Bill sometime between Dec 11 & Jan 5 to go over statement. Come to a Writing Session (come & go during these times) or contact one of us to schedule a special time.
- Writing Sessions: Wed Dec 14 (4:30-5:00), Fri Dec 16 (5:00-5:30), Wed Dec 21 (1:35-2:30), Wed Jan 4 (4:30-5:30) – you do NOT have to stay the entire times listed…come & go as needed
- Optional Second Draft anytime via email
- Final due on Sun, Jan 8, 9:00pm by email (final opportunity to ask a last-minute question during class)
- You will present your statements to the Session on Thurs Jan 12, 6:30pm.
