Our Associate Pastor, Jay Banasiak, was called to Clemmons Presbyterian Church in 2006 and began work with us in mid-August of that year. Jay grew up in Harrison, Tennessee, just north of Chattanooga. He received the Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, TN, in 1997. He received the Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education degrees from Union Theological Seminary & the Presbyterian School of Christian Education (Union-PSCE) in Richmond, VA, in 2006. Jay worked at churches in Cookeville, TN and Raleigh, NC before starting at the seminary in 2002. His most recent church experience before coming to us was serving the First Presbyterian Church of Gloucester, Virginia, as a seminary intern from September 2005 to May 2006.

Jay has been involved with the Montreat Conference Center, Massanetta Springs Conference Center, and Presbytery events, serving in such capacities as Small Group Leader, Workshop Director, Music Leader, Co-Director, Planning Team, Back-Home Leader, and conferee.

One day, he hopes to own a house in the mountains with a large front porch and rocking chairs, so he can sit and make music with nature. His favorite hymn is Be Thou My Vision and favorite ice cream is Breyer’s© Natural Vanilla with Real Vanilla Bean Specks.

Jay currently lives in Davie County, just a few miles west of the church.

Jay is in the office Sunday through Thursdays, and occasionally on Fridays and Saturdays.
