• Super Bowling, Saturday, 4:45p-7p
  • Sign up via email or on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/184152795019026/
  • Sign up by Thursday, 5pm. Pay Jay at the bowling alley in CASH
  • About $13-15 per person (includes 2 hours bowling, shoes, 1 pizza per lane, 1 pitcher of soda per lane, 6 bowlers per lane) – I will confirm price
  • Adults who wish to bowlor attend need to RSVP as well
    • Adults signed up at Parent Event: Alison C (not bowling); and bowling: Allen/Ronda, Art, Leigh Ann, Jenny Mc – please confirm
  • Everyone please meet at the AMF bowling alley in Winston-Salem, 811 Jonestown Rd., (336) 765-8009
  • Please arrive at 4:45, so we can BEGIN BOWLING at 5:00.
  • We will end bowling after 2 hours, so after cleanup and gathering things, you’ll be ready to go by 7:10. Carpooling is encouraged!

Valentine’s Luncheon – NEW INFO

• We have a tradition of providing a fun-filled Valentine’s Luncheon for our senior adults in the congregation – free of charge! It is our gift to them. This is always a fun event, so plan to sign up and attend.
• Gooth participate by decorating, setting up, serving, providing talent, and cleaning up
• Gooth wanting to share talent need to sign up immediately!
• Gooth are asked to wear BLACK pants/modest skirts and WHITE button shirts or blouses.
• A team of adults led by Jenny McCoy and Margaret Hubbard are coordinating the décor, settings, and food. If adults are interested in volunteering with this event, please speak to one of them.

High School Harry Potter Study – NEW INFO

• INITIAL MEETING – THIS Sunday, February 5, 4:15-5:30pm (1.25 hours)
• We will determine our official meeting time with everyone present…Choice of Sundays at 3:15 and Tuesdays at 7pm and Thursdays at 7/7:30pm
• Study Books (The Gospel According to HP) are available for purchase for $4, or to borrow. I have 10 copies. Books may be picked up Sunday morning or afternoon
• The study will have 7 sessions following this initial session. Each of these 7 will last 1 hour.
• We will discuss the first book/movie on Sunday, in case you want to watch the movie before then
• All High School youth are invited to participate, whether or not you have expressed interest to me yet

High School Camp Hanes Retreat

• March 3-4, 2012 (Saturday & Sunday)

  • I don’t know exactly how many I need for the Mission Trip, but I definitely need MALES (just look at that list! Yay for the women signing up early!). We often break into small groups, which need 1 male and 1 female per group of 5 youth.

• o      We will have a time of getting to know them, singing, worship, and reflecting in the sanctuary.

• Come hear about what a sabbatical is, why Jay is taking one, and how it will be of benefit to Gooth, Jay, and CPC
• We will also enjoy a time of sharing together in our separate MS & HS groups

Super Party Hosts

• I need a host and co-host for the Middle School Super Party. If I do not have a volunteer by this Sunday night, Jan 22, we will not hold a Middle School party (which I am “OK” with, because not as many middlers are interested in the game anyway) and consider the Super Bowling activity on Saturday night as our MS Gooth Activity for the weekend. I’m not trying to guilt anyone into hosting…it may be that the MS Super Party has run its course and isn’t needed any longer.
